Beat the Heat This Summer

Beat the heat!

Mayor Bill de Blasio advised New Yorkers to observe safety and cooling measures as the temperature in the area continues to rise. Children, the elderly and people with existing medical conditions are particularly more vulnerable to extreme heat, which why it is important to check in on them regularly and make sure that they are cool and comfortable inside their homes or any air-conditioned place.

Aside from taking refuge in a safe and cool place, other measures include drinking plenty of water, avoiding strenuous outdoor activities, and using SPF sunscreen.
