Air Conditioner Maintenance Checklist

Spending a few dollars to keep your air conditioner in good working condition throughout the hot season is so much better than having to deal with an A/C breakdown during the hottest days of summer and ending with repair fees at least twice as expensive as what you would’ve spent on maintenance.
Here are a couple of tasks that should be part of your air conditioner maintenance checklist:
  • Replace old A/C equipment with a more efficient unit and schedule regular maintenance and tune-up with your contractor.
  • Install a programmable thermostat and place it in proper settings.
  • Change the air filter at least once every 3 months.
  • Keep the outdoor unit well-protected against leaves and debris.
  • Seal air ducts properly to prevent leakage.
