Busy Time for Weather Shelters

It’s wintertime and cold weather is a big problem for a lot of people. It is an even bigger problem now that extreme weather is expected to become more common. This is why extreme weather shelters are bound to become busy this time of year.

Gateway of Hope, which is an extreme weather shelter in Langley, is expected to have a very busy season.

According to an article on the Langley Times, Les McAusland, manager of Langley’s extreme weather shelter program, said, “So far, in eight days, we have had 156 people access the shelter since we opened it on Dec. 2.”
