Extreme Weather Has Become the New Normal

Extreme weather conditions has become the new normal these days: the storms Irene and Sandy which caused flooding and devastation; the blizzard in February that barricaded people in their homes and left more than 3 feet of snow in some towns; and the fourth tornado of the month which landed in Connecticut.

Harsh weather this year is the result of a cyclical weather pattern that caused larger storms to occur more often according to FOX CT meteorologist Joe Furey.

Furey said the best response to extreme weather is preparedness.
