How to Stay Cool While Running During the Summer Months

We all love to exercise outside but the heat can be frustrating. The best time to go running is early in the morning or late at night especially during the summer months. To keep you safe from the sweltering heat while working out, there are things that you need to bear in mind.

It’s important that you increase your water intake. The rule of thumb is to drink 8 oz. of water every one to two hours if you are doing any form of exercise. Always carry a water bottle with you and take water breaks as much as possible.

Wearing appropriate clothing is also important. These days, you can find a lot of new workout clothing that comes in a moisture wicking fabric. Exercise attire in this type of fabric absorbs sweat leaving you more comfortable.

Also before going out, always wear sunscreen. If you don’t have one, you can wear lightweight long-sleeved shirt and pants. You can also opt to wear a hat to keep the sun out of your face.
