Learning How Plumbing Systems Work at HomeThe plumbing system of any house or infrastructure is like the blood vessels of the human body. If the latter is responsible for circulating blood throughout the body, the former is responsible for delivering water in all parts of the house. · The supply pipes connect the house to the service line of the source. It can be made of iron, plastic, or copper. And just like the blood vessels, the pipes will gradually be smaller in size as the system’s extremities are reached.

· The waste pipes must be sloped downward towards the septic tank or sewers. Furthermore, it needs to be vented to allow smooth water flow out to the septic tank. If not, draining will happen slower than normal.

· The fixtures are the ones you typically see and use like the sink and the toilet.
