Preventing Common A/C Problems

Many homeowners have long come to peace with the notion that frequent air conditioner breakdowns and malfunctions are normal in A/C systems. However, there are actually a number of things that they can do to prevent these occurrences.

For instance, dirt and dust can cause the efficiency of system to greatly depreciate, but regularly cleaning the unit can keep the latter from clogging the filter and damaging the coils. Maintaining proper refrigerant level, on the other hand, prevents leaking and helps maintain a cool and pleasant indoor air temperature. Finally, in order to prevent electric control failure, having to frequently turn the unit off then on again should be avoided.
