Staying Cool During a Summer Run

Summer is officially here and the heat sometimes becomes unbearable but this season can still be the best time of the year for running if you’re smart about it and you make the necessary adjustments.

Here are some running tips to get your started:

– Try running early in the morning because it’s the coolest and also the most serene time of the day. Running in the morning can also boost your mood all throughout the day.

– Even if you don’t feel thirsty, you need to drink at least 8 oz of fluid every hour and more if you are engaging in any physical activity that causes you to sweat a lot. With adequate fluid intake, you’ll run and feel better.

– To protect your head from scorching heat, always protect your skin by using sunscreen even on partly cloud days because harmful UV rays aren’t blocked by cloud cover. Another benefit of using sunscreen is that it can decrease your skin and body temperatures, helping you stay cooler during exercise.
