Tips on How to Stay Safe During Summer
Summer is the best time of the year especially for children. But then the scorching heat during this season is fraught with dangers. Kids, senior citizens, pets and people with chronic illnesses are at risk when the temperature is too high. Make sure your kids wear sunscreen at all times especially when they spend longer periods of time outdoors. Reapply sunscreen every two hours.
Dehydration is very common during summer. You can be mildly dehydrated without you knowing it. Kids should have water every 20 minutes. Let them carry water bottles and encourage them to increase their water intake.
Heat-related illnesses are also a big issue during summer. To prevent heat-related illnesses, drink plenty of water. Heat sicknesses usually set in long before you feel the symptoms.
