Tricks to Help Your AC Cool Your Home Efficiently

Now that spring is here and pretty soon, before you know it, summer will take its place, it’s high time that you make sure your air conditioning units can effectively serve their purpose of keeping you cool. Although you probably won’t use your ACs as much since you may want to savor the warmer weather after that excruciating winter, you don’t want to discover that you can’t have the comfort of a cool home once temperatures start to soar.

However, your cooling systems can’t do all the work. You have to help them out to make sure you get the most out of your units without wearing them out.

  • Keep your lights shut off, especially during the hottest hours of the day as they only add more heat.
  • Close your blinds to keep the sunlight and the heat out of your home.
  • Run a fan to help the cooler air circulate through your home if you have one.
  • Set the thermostat on your air conditioner to 76-78 degrees for maximum efficiency.
