Check your AC Unit Before Weather Heats Up

During summer, your air conditioning unit is the most valuable appliance in your home. But according to U.S. Census Bureau, more than three million of air conditioning systems fail each year.

“Air conditioning is a big investment in your home. Learning what maintenance steps you can take on your own and what questions to ask your air conditioning contractor, can save you time, money and keep you comfortable this season,” says Frank Landwehr, vice president of Emerson Climate Technologies.

While hiring a professional technician is required for regular maintenance of your AC unit, there are preventive tasks that you can do yourself.  Changing air filters and cleaning duct grills are some of the maintenance tasks that you can easily manage.
