Cleaning Your AC Coils

Cleaning Your AC CoilsYour air conditioner coils have to be cleaned regularly in order for them to function efficiently. Fortunately, you don’t have to enlist the help of your repairman which means cleaning them won’t have to cost you anything. You only need a fin comb, a vacuum cleaner and a screwdriver. It’s a good idea to wear gloves so you won’t hurt or dirty your hands. Once you’ve got all that covered, you’re all good to go.

The following are instructions for cleaning the AC coils inside your home:
  1. Remove the front grille.
  2. Remove the filter to expose the condenser coils.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up any dirt and dust on the coils.
  4. Use a fin comb to straighten any bent coil fin
  5. Replace the filter and front grille.
