Getting the Air Conditioning System Ready for Summer

The warmer days of the year is arriving. Is your air conditioning system ready to counter the heat? If yes, then you are all set up for some comfort and relaxation this summer.

If not, here are some tips to prepare your air conditioner for the warm days ahead.

  • Test the effectiveness of the unit’s condensation system with the use of a pump. If there is no pump, check whether a switch is available to turn it off. You should avoid the pan from being overfilled with water.
  • For the cooling system to work, making sure that there is nothing blocking its airflow is essential. Ensure that there is at least 2 feet of space between the unit and the branches, piles, and shrubs. You can use a garden hose to wash it or a chemical cleaner if it is too grimy.
  • Immediately contact a professional AC company if you find mold growing in your air ducts. They will also be able to thoroughly clean the system, if you ask them too.
