How to Stay Cool During a Heatwave
A Level 2 heatwave alert points to the East of England and will occur on Saturday and Sunday. It means that there’s a 60% or more probability of heatwave conditions on two or more consecutive days. People have been encouraged to take precautionary measures to stay cool over the weekend.
Those at risk includes seniors, babies, young children, and people with serious chronic condition like breathing or heart problems. To stay cool and to keep yourself or your household members safe, you can follow these tips:
– Put a loose, cotton, damp cloth or scarf at the back of your neck.
– Spray or splash your face as well as the back of your neck with cold water several times each day can help you stay cool.
– Avoid going out during the hottest time of the day.
– Stay in the coolest part of your home.
