Tips to Stay Cool and Save Energy

Because summer time is officially here, energy bills are going through the roof but with a little initiative, you can cut corners while still keeping cool.

It’s hard to escape the heat of summer but there are easy no-cost tips that you can follow to stay cool for the rest of the day and save on your energy bills:

– Cooking in the summer can make your kitchen feel like one huge oven. The heat from the oven and stove top and the steam generated not only fills up the entire kitchen but also throughout your home. Instead, spend about 15 to 20 minutes cooking outside on your grill, leaving the heat outside where it really belongs.

– Instead of packing all your dirty dishes into the dishwasher, wash them by hand and air dry them. The heat from the dishwasher can make the entire kitchen feel like a sauna.
